“The early bird catches the worm”

Is the old saying.

And it’s true for many things. After all, if you want to be first in line you need to be early.

Those who want to achieve a lot in life often get up early in the morning and from there can drive themselves throughout the day knowing that they have achieved certain things early on in the morning before many have risen from slumber.

But many people getting up right before they go to work they are rushing around every morning taking their showers, making their breakfast, preparing their children for their day before going off into traffic.

In this way morning, time is a challenge rather than a joy.

Yet if you get up that bit earlier you give yourself more scope to do things with more poise and calmness. When you do things like that you`re telling your brain you`re in control and that sets the tone for the rest of the day as well.

With that in mind here are seven ways you can benefit from rising early in the morning so you can improve your life and others around you as well:

1. Our brains are alert to the morning light.

By experiencing the morning in this way you are keeping your circadian rhythms n check. Here your physical body, mental mind, and behavior are guided by how you receive the light early on and as it tires later in the day is welcomed by darkness.

And that’s when you know it’s nearly time for sleep.

2. Being early to bed you`ll be early to rise because your body will wake after a number of hours anyway.

And you’ll be assured you`ll wake earlier the next morning too. Because if you start your work earlier you`ll be more tired earlier too so it stands to reason when you fall asleep you`ll have a better sleep. Then when your body recovers from repairing its damaged cells it will wake more naturally and also be more alert for another day of action.

3. If you exercise early in the morning it may be difficult but it benefits your body and you are sharper and can release endorphins in your brain.

And the benefits of the energy you get from that exercise can fuel you throughout the day. Plus you are also getting fitter and healthier as well. By the time the evening comes and others are planning their gym routine you`ve already got yours done and you can begin to relax instead.

4. By getting up early you`re able to have time alone and when being alone you can set your intentions for the day without any distraction.

If you take a few minutes to write down what you need to do for the day an early morning rise will allow you to focus with no one else around. By having that peace it will give you more clarity and space of mind to properly plan your projects before they unfold.

5. By starting in routine you`re setting the tone for the rest of the day and by doing things consistently you`re preparing for more success in the longer term.

And after a couple of months of getting up at the same time and doing the same things in the morning, you`re training yourself to follow certain procedures automatically throughout the day. This means you won’t overthink doing actions but rather you`ll just get to it. And by taking action you’ll push yourself closer to your overall goals and learn from any potential mistakes sooner than others as well.

6. When you rise early you can meditate and this will soften your brain and bring clarity to your decision-making throughout the day.

Because meditation has been proven to put your brain in a greater state of awareness. It balances your analytical and creative brain and allows you to see things from a more objective viewpoint. The advantages of this mean you`ll have a greater depth of instinct concerning all your decisions and deeper awareness of things happening around you.

You`ll also have a sharper perception of potential opportunities and problems that may occur throughout a given day.

7. As the working day usually begins at 8 am or 9 am if you get up earlier you allow yourself to do work so you can free up time later in the day to take off when others are still going full throttle.

And that gives you a second time in the day to be alone and to reflect on things. In doing so you avoid being reactive to situations that may have bothered you. At this stage, your active energy is slowing down and you`re more intent to know it’s time to look back on your day. That allows you to organize your thoughts for the next morning so you`ll be able to hit the ground running and stay ahead of the chasing pack.
