Too often people think the story of their life has been written but if they become more creative they can orchestrate a better life for themselves

The school days are the best days of your life.

Or so we were told when we were in school.

But I have to be honest I never believed that. And I still don’t. Because for me, I think that there are better days ahead than those that I spent in school.

Don’t get me wrong my school days weren’t the worst of my life but it did make me feel more limited and restricted than expressive and open. And surely that’s not a great educational model to adopt if we’re trying to produce civilians that are better for our world than those that went before them?

I mean, what’s the point of educating if it doesn’t expand your mind enough for you to be inspired to take positive action with it in the future?

So my few years being schooled could have been better. Of that, there is no doubt. And although I could have put more into my efforts at the time I felt when I did there was no space for me to express myself properly within the confines of the subjects that were being taught.

But that was then and this is now.

And if I haven’t learned from the whole experience of growing up in that way then I’m not using my creative brain to develop.

Because since my school days there is a lot more ways to become creative and many of them are easily accessible online and are of little or no cost. Take this article as an example. When I was in school there was no option to write online not to mention for respected publications that would attract wonderful readers like you!

So I’ve lived and now I learn.

And I create too.

Creating is a continual habit of using your imagination to capture innovative expressions.

Once you create one piece of content and people react to it you immediately learn about their overall perception of it. And whether the reaction is good or bad either way you learn and adapt your creativity or reach deeper to attempt to create better.

And throughout my time of using my creative abilities I`ve learned that I need to avoid having blockages in my life and to follow certain guidelines.

So here are 7 of them:

1. Be consistently creative

Because often people think that being creative means lighting up a solitary spark that brings a new and useful idea to mind. And although there needs to be that expanding thought to get the creative process going it doesn’t mean that it must be a one-off trigger. Instead, it’s important to cultivate a consistent approach to generating ideas focused on being regularly creative.

2. Avoid having a monotonous routine as this will kill any momentum you will build-up

So you need to cushion your routine with moments of expectation. You can do this by giving yourself a time limit as to how long your creative project will take. By giving yourself this period it motivates you to know that when that time arrives you`ll have completed something new and rewarding.

3. Create an inspiring routine so that it’s easy to stay consistent as so many people have problems with fostering a day in day out approach

By making sure you have a routine that you look forward to you`ll increase your creative vibration and that’s when ideas come to you that are better than previous ones.

4. Add to your routine every so often

I`m not talking about changing it but rather tweaking it to make it refreshing and something to look forward to. And when you do adapt it slightly and know that in doing so you are developing it positively.

5. Take breaks as they will expand your creative flow

And from there you`ll be able to see the error of your ways and adjust things that haven’t worked for you in the initial period of your work. So rather than giving up on your creative project by giving yourself some time to stand away from it, you`ll discover solutions to its limiting appeal and from there you`ll be able to maximize its finished product.

6. Have something to look forward to

Because being creative takes energy.

And if you are dependent on being creative for your work then there can be a certain amount of stress aligned to your creative process too. So it’s important to give yourself something big to look forward to so you can continue to be motivated to be creative.

7. Have small celebrations for small wins as you need to keep knowing you`re on the right track with your creative urges

So by taking small periods to reflect on how much you`ve attained you`ll raise your energy and this can only be good for your next idea which will keep your consistency of approach.
