Because fish is a fantastic food for your brain. So if you can source a good place to buy fresh fish then you`re doing yourself a great favor in life.

But there are many types of fish. So which types of fish are the best for your brain health?

Fatty fish contain a source of omega-3 fatty acids in abundance. These unsaturated fats are associated with lowering the amount of betaamloid. This is a protein that gathers in clumps in the brains of those with Alzheimer’s disease.

Fish such as cod, canned light tuna, Pollack, salmon, and cod are great sources of fish that will help your brain’s health.

By eating them at least twice a week you’ll benefit your brain. However, if for some reason you can’t eat fish on any given week you can take omega-3 supplements instead. From a study done of 1203 participants with Omega-3 PUFA treatment, there was a significant decrease in the number of people with symptoms of anxiety also.

But it’s not just fatty fish that’s great for your brain health. Green leafy vegetables like broccoli, kale, spinach, spinach, and collards provide vitamin K beta carotene, folate, and lutein.

These type of vegetables give great minerals, vitamins, and are extremely nutritious. They provide you with vitamins A and C also. And they’re great antioxidants as well as providing potassium, calcium, magnesium, and iron too.

Not only that, they are very low in calories.

For example, a full cup of spinach provides only seven calories and also 840 mg of potassium.

And eating green leafy vegetables can make you look up to 11 years younger than you are!

By taking these vegetables your cognitive decline is decreased. Even if your lifestyle, overall health, and education levels are not substantially changed for the better, greens will help you a lot. As there is now growing evidence of the importance of the brain-gut connection eating green leafy vegetables is proving to be favorable for your digestion system.

It helps to balance hormones and decrease gut infections. And it also increases the amount of fluid in your body and decreases bloating.

As green leafy vegetables grow from the ground they take the richness from the soil and help you to be nourished. They also improve your inflammatory response in fighting diseases and balance your sugars, while improving your gut health.

But they’re not the only foods that can be great for your brain.

Berries are fantastic for your brain’s health too as they act as an antioxidant.

What type of berries is best?

Blackberries, blackcurrants, strawberries, mulberries, and blueberries can all be taken to improve brain health. They improve communication between brain cells; reduce age-related neurodegenerative disease as well as cognitive decline. By increasing your brain’s plasticity, they improve your ability to learn and memorize too.

Berries will decrease inflammation as it is a source of many diseases in the body as it includes antioxidants such as caffeic acid, quercetin, anthocyanin, and catechin.

By eating berries you are altering the way neurons communicate within your brain. For example, memory decline has been proven to be decreased for those that had two or more servings of blueberries or strawberries weekly. They fight against free radicals and are a great antioxidant.

By doing this you’re improving your overall movement and functionality as this has been proven when researchers tested animal movement after taking berries in their diet.

This may seem surprising given that animals don’t seem to know what the major food groups are. It doesn’t look as if they consciously avoid fats. But if they did, they’d notice that there are healthy and unhealthy fats that they and we can take in our diet too.

Nuts are an excellent source of healthy fats. And as they’re a protein as well they make us grow stronger and repair damage from exertion.

Walnuts are particularly good for your brain’s health. They improve your cognitive functioning and especially your memory. In a 2015 study by the University College of Los Angeles (UCLA) it was discovered that test scores were improved by eating walnuts. And they also lower blood pressure and protect your arteries which means it’s not only your brain that becomes better, as it also helps your heart as well.

To wash it all down you`ll need a drink, but alcohol is not the ideal choice. And although coffee provides a stimulant to your brain through its ingredient of caffeine that sharpens your mental functioning, it’s also a diuretic so not the most ideal to take.

That’s why tea is a short-term benefit for your brain.
