Life Is What You Make It!
You`ve only one chance that we know of in life so it's up to you to make the most of it all
This is not a dress rehearsal.
That’s life!
I could stop writing right now but you`d probably think I`m being rude. Yet in reality, what I`ve written is the truth.
Something so big as life itself can be explained so quickly in a few small words like that because it’s clear and concise and straight to the point. And that’s what life is. Because when life goes well for you you`ll know it straight away and when it goes badly for you won’t have to be told.
Some say you get one chance at things in life but I don’t think so.
Because many times you don’t get a chance at all. Instead, you get to look in the window at others having many more chances. And for you to get inside takes a lot of hard work and some good fortune.
That’s not to say that you can’t turn tough times into opportunities for yourself because you can.
But you may have to do things differently than those who got the invitation to come through the front door. And as with any house or building, there’s only so much space there for a few at any one time. So when you make your chance you got to take it.
Now if you`re reading this and thinking I`m being melodramatic about it all think again.
Because you may have to comb back through your past and analyze it a bit more to figure out how you`ve reached the position you have in life.
Ask yourself how you got there?
Who helped you?
Did you do it all alone?
Be honest with yourself.
I bet your answers will show that in some ways you`ve earned your spot in the good position you’re in. But if you were to be very honest and go back far enough in your life you`ll notice were it not for other people you wouldn’t have made the decisions you did when you did to get you to the next part of your story. And from there one thing led to another and you probably met others along the way who collectively opened up opportunities for you.
But if you`re reading this and life is not serving you too well right now you`ll probably think many opportunities have not gone your way at all in the most recent past.
And that’s partially why you`ve landed in the situation where you`re at.
I get you.
If you sit down and ponder on it you`ll remember back to when you made decisions based on what you knew at the time. If you knew then what you knew how you`d probably have gone down a different path.
Twenty twenty vision is great to have.
Yet it’s a pity there are many people who need glasses in life.
Because the reality is things are not always as they seem.
And sometimes making decisions in life can be very difficult.
You can make one and never regret it or you can regret it for a long time after making it and curse yourself for not seeing the pitfalls.
Then again you can look back on the choice you made almost immediately and realize it was the wrong one.
Time and thinking are funny like that.
But there’s no joke about your life.
Rather it’s serious business.
Because it’s a gift you have to protect for as long as you can. And unlike lots of gifts, you have to use it. You can’t sit in the corner and hope for life to serve you up good things all of the time.
You have to get stuck in and create opportunities for yourself.
If others have given you great things in life be thankful for them. You may have taught it at the time they`d be around for you all of the time to help you out but they won’t be.
Because no one lasts forever.
And you won’t either.
So you need to grasp life. Hold on to it tightly. Know it's your favorite possession and the
one that’s the key to everything else.
Because possessions are great to have but they won’t make you happy. In ways, they may even make you feel sad. Yet people have the capability to make you happy and can be the best partners in the adventure of your few years here on earth.
If you can pick the right ones to have around you then you`ll have a great life.
And although they will go from it or you`ll go from there’s at some time or another your memories will be sweet and you`ll never have regrets but instead joy in your mind.
Because they too have only one life. And if they choose to spend it around you you`ve done something right after all.
So be happy they`ve chosen you and that with them you`ll make the most of the time you`ve been given together.
