Why Donald Trump’s Truth Makes Psychological Sense

Finding the reality between what we’re told and what is true is a challenge in the modern day but if you have the power over masses of people already then you`ll be able to create a new reality for them

This is fake news!

Or so I thought it was when I heard it first.

But then it turned out to be real.

And although my initial reaction to the news that former US President Donald Trump wanted to have his own social media platform was ridiculous the more I thought about it the more it made sense to me.

I mean if you think about it why wouldn’t Donald Trump want to have his own social platform. At least that’s what I`ve come to the conclusion on the matter.

Now you may be reading this thinking that I should be locked up as Donald Trump’s antics in the White House during his times as president disgraced the flag and the democratic process. From being impeached, to playing down the Covid-19 pandemic, to having some of his supporters break into buildings in Capitol Hill, Trump’s time as president was colorful, to say the least.

But before you stop reading know that I`m not a Trump supporter. Nor am I a Biden one. Nor am I a Republican or a Democrat. In fact, I`m not even an American citizen.

Instead, I`m analyzing things from an objective point of view.

So with all that in mind here are 5 ways I think Donald Trump’s truth makes psychological sense.

1. Trump’s perception of things is his reality

And from that point of view, it's true to him. So it’s no wonder that he names his social platform after this valued word. Of course, though, that doesn’t mean it’s the objective truth.

And it’s the same for us all.

Even though we think that everyone sees and hears things like we do they don’t.

Take for example that for whatever reason you’re thinking a lot about someone. And then when you go out in public and see lots of people eventually at some stage you`ll begin to think you see that person that’s on your mind. From behind they may look like them but by the time they turn around quite often, you’ll realize they look nothing like that person at oall.

That’s when your eyes can trick and your ears can too.

Or when you hear a song come on the radio and you`re with a friend who likes that song too. Then you both begin to sing along. But before you know it they`re singing one version of a line and your singing another.

Yet both are to the same beat.

From there you may start disagreeing with your friend about what exactly the lyric is as the music is drowning it out.

And it’s not only what you see and hear, but many other areas of perception too that lead you to believe it’s your truth that matters the most.

2. His paranoia is his reality too.

Some say that Trump is paranoid and if he is then that will curb his perception of what is happening in the world.

There’s no doubt that as he held the most powerful position as the leader of the free world he was once on a very high perch. And as the old saying goes the bigger they are the harder they fall, and Trump’s fall from grace was reported in many media outlets as being a massive embarrassment.

So you can understand how he’d feel aggrieved in some ways or even somewhat paranoid about the media in general.

And when there’s public embarrassment it’s human nature to want to vindicate yourself.

For if you`ve ever walked down a street and seen someone trip on the pavement you`ll notice that more often than not that person will instinctively pop to their feet despite the extent of the injury they may have felt. The embarrassment of falling overcomes the pain of being physically hurt in the first place.

That’s how much people are concerned with the opinions of others.

3. By having a social platform with his name being associated with the truth he’s showing huge authenticity

Because many people will be reeled in by this branding even if they think he’s dishonest.

As that’s the magic of marketing.

Although most people view the word ‘truth’ as being an open and honest word and one that embodies some of the best forms of our human character, so long as his platform contains resemblances of it, it will be a great brand name for him.

And with that many people will be drawn to his perceived connection with truth.

Each time they hear a headline with “Trump” and “Truth” they’ll initially question the relationship between the two. But if the social platform can generally allow people to post things that are on their mind and have their say on things then most newbies to the platform will take it as being a credible place to socialize online.

4. Trump knows how to use attention

Because he’s gotten it all his life.

And by being so famous he’s aware that any big move in the marketplace will get the mainstream media talking. That’s when he gets free publicity and how his brand name gets a greater reach to more people.

5. Trump knows how to make money because before he was a politician he was a businessman

So he’s not going to jump into a brand new marketplace such as the world of social media without having an angle to what he’s doing that will make him money.

And if it’s not money he’s after then the excursion into social media will be planned out to shine lights on all the other things he offers to his growing customer base.

Sure it may be another jaunt into political life and the desire to be in the biggest job of all but if he can win over some more voters on a platform and breaks even then he’ll get more than his return on investment into the platform. After all, by the time he came up with the idea of “Truth” there were no other potential presidential candidates talking about devising their own social platforms.

But if you think that Trump’s truth is all a lie then ask yourself how many times you’ve believed those who started a sentence with:

“If I’m being truthful…”?
