Why The World Will Never Be The Same After Club House

The community of people on an app is supporting each other and showing how democracy can truly lead the way

Club House is changing the world.

And just as I`ve written that statement I read it over again and realize it’s a huge statement to make.

But it’s true.

Because although Club House is an app on a phone it’s much more than that. As its changing the way people are communicating in this world of ours.

I started on Club House early on when the app was in beta mode. And as I write this now it’s still in beta mode. And if you read this article a couple of years from now I`d be quite confident that some of the things I`m saying now will have come true by then.

As I write there are many issues with the app. Technically, there are many glitches and it’s annoying to the user when that happens. But for all the glitches the bigger vision behind the app makes it well worth using.

Club House is a social media that is very different from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, and many others.

To best understand it you have to first understand what it is not.

Facebook and Twitter started off relying on text being curated by users to communicate their opinions in s social way. Then, a few pictures were able to be shared, and eventually, video clips were posted by users of the apps.

Instagram designed its platform to allow its users to post images. If they wanted to get more followers then they had to post better images than other accounts on the app.

Youtube relied primarily on video.

And its quality of content became the highest quality around with film and documentaries being shared on the platform for free. Eventually, more US youngsters were watching more content on YouTube than they were watching TV. That showed how successful You Tube became.

Club House is different again as it’s primarily audio-only.

Similar to a phone-in radio show any user on the app has the opportunity to converse with anyone else on the app. Club House enables users to have clubs on any topic they wish. Within the clubs, people can open virtual audio rooms. Their users of the app can visit the rooms and listen to the virtual audience.

Listening like this is similar to listening to a podcast.

But unlike a podcast Club House allows for audience members to go to the stage and speak to the other speakers on the stage. And it’s all in real-time. So if you don’t get it right people will know if you’re genuine or not.

Because many people can interact and speak together it makes sure that listening is key.

And like any conversation, it means that listeners can tap into the tone of speakers’ voices and reply to their comments quickly.

Although its audio-based users still have the opportunity to have a visual profile. On their profile, they can add their profession and any personal information they want to be shown. They can also attach their other social media accounts there which enables them to private message each other away from the app.

Another way of looking at Club House is that it’s like a telephone conference call except there can be thousands listening in to the speakers.

At the beginning of the app, it attracted many millions to it and initially helped with users’ enforced isolation during the Covid-19 pandemic. Relationships were forged and those people built a community that is for the most part welcoming to the many daily new users.

And this intrigued big companies and celebrities too because every speaker can gain followers on the app too.

That makes it eye-catching to many new users who would not consider themselves fans of other social media. All they have to do is join the app and open a room on any desired topic. Once people come into their virtual audio room they are automatically in the audience and the room creator can speak to them.

This allows for professional speakers, broadcasters, actors and educators to teach and for classes to be taught to an unlimited amount of people in a room.

Even as I write I know that Club House has already changed the way things will be done in the future. Because I`m confident that the initial users have created a good community there where listening is important and speaking can only be done when you wait your turn. And if you speak you have to back up everything you say.

This will be a very beneficial thing to many people all around the world.

It means that people from anywhere can find business relationships and new friendships from around the globe all within a few minutes of a conversation on an app. Rather than having to go through the patient getting to know someone through email or a variety of other more impersonal social media platforms Club House allows people to go straight to the person’s personality and speak with them in real-time.

And most of the aforementioned social media companies noticed this too.

Facebook and Twitter immediately realized what Club House creators Rohan Seth and Paul Davison had achieved and tried to replicate it on their platforms as soon as they could.

A true testament to how it will evolve the world of communication.

After all, as the old saying goes:

“Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery”
