Your New Year Is Only One Thought Away From You Now

Just because the clock ticks it doesn't mean your life changes as that part is up to you

That’s a fact.

But it’s also an ancient proverb dating back hundreds of years.

It’s old and gloomy and a lot of how many people feel at the start of a new year. Because right now as I write this it is a new year. But I don’t feel that way, I feel the opposite.

Alive, uplifted, positive, and vibrant.

These are only a handful of the words that are on the tip of my tongue to describe how I feel right now. And it’s not as if things are going the best for me at the moment as they`re not. But that doesn’t ruffle my feathers.

Rather, I take the start of a new year with a pinch of salt and let’s face it sometimes things with salt in them taste nice.

After all lots of people sprinkle it on their dinner as they want that extra zing that gives you what would otherwise be an ordinary experience of chomping at the bit.

Of course, the ironic thing about the start of a new year is that once the clock strikes twelve everyone is momentarily happy and in a great mood but once the small days of January appear and Christmas time evaporates into thin air people have this feeling of an anticlimax. For them, it’s all of this great initial feeling but then they`re left alone to make things happen again.

And for too many people this type of opportunity of a clean slate on the calendar is too much. Before long, their promises to themselves are quashed and they now know this is the way they are. A self-fulfilling prophesy if you will.

But the truth is the New Year doesn’t mean a new you.

Yet new thoughts do.

As the New Year is only the ticking of the clock into a new period whereas a thought can light you up and define your future. And that thought can come a lot quicker than a ten-second countdown into a New Year does and will last a lot longer too. Because if you choose the right thought that serves you well you can wrap your whole life around it.

That’s why what you think is more important than the communal time frame that everyone else sets their life by.

So it’s important to let others go by that clock but to know your thoughts are your own and they go by the clock that you design for yourself. And that may mean that your seconds are faster than other people, or your minutes are more prolonged, and the hours can be of any length so long as you make them your own.

Because this life is yours to waste or yours to prosper.

And as we aren’t sure of any other life that follows it, it seems pointless to waste it with your head into others people’s business, limited thinking patterns, or timetables. Because that won’t serve you in the best way possible. It may help them but they aren’t you and so you can shape your schedule to dictate your success in life.

That’s where the relief for many comes when they fail to live up to their New Year’s resolutions as only they know what they’ve set for themselves. Because that’s when they think they return to their comfortable self. And for a time that feels nice.

But that place of comfort is only our brain’s self-trained way of keeping us in a form of status quo and this does not mean it’s the place that’s going to serve you the best in your life. In all probability, it’s likely anything but the place to be in. And that’s why you need to re-create a new thought pattern that will get you to where you know you should be at.

And that starts from you being alone and thinking where do you want to be.

Because it’s there that will wait for you to arrive. And when you do you`ll look from that vantage point and another thought will come to your mind wondering how it took you so long to get there. That’s when you know you’re in the place that you were meant to be all along and that that other comfort zone was only there as you had created it for self too.

All sound a little too complicated?

I get you.

But know this it need only be very simple for you. Because it’s not me that’s constructing your thoughts. Rather it’s the power of what you have within yourself. And if you can grab that creative part of you and direct it to where you want it to go you`ll notice how easy it is for you.

So it’s not about the start of a New Year or a new you, it’s the creation of one new thought and being loyal to that thought throughout your life.

That’s where the best part of you lies and that can happen in an instant so why not flick that switch and cast some light on it right now?
